Enjoyed my dinner here with colleagues. We opted for the patio. There was a strong sewerage smell, unfortunately. Otherwise, it would have been much more enjoyable. Great wine paired with delicious food. Very accommodating to diners with dietary needs. I loved the vegan vodka pasta.

I had a very nice dinner here with my parents - the space is a nice vibe with different table and chair settings around the restaurant. The staff were friendly and the service was pretty good. We ordered the butter chicken meatballs which were amazing - I highly recommend! We also got the watermelon arugula salad which was light and flavorful and complimented the meatballs well. We then got the short rib and the pasta romero with fennel sausage. The wine was tasty and the food was all delicious. I think the pasta was the star of the night, so I will want to try other pastas the next time I come back. I also want to try the brussels sprouts!

I had always wanted to go to Alpana. I've been following the owner Alpana since her "Check Please" show on PBS. Can honestly say this is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The chicken w the potatoes paired with the green sauce is phenomenal. The truffle pasta was sooo delicious. And the drinks are top tier. Overall ambiance is gorgeous. Definitely would recommend you trying this place out 10/10 across the board.

Always glad to show someone new a great spot in Chicago. Decor is fun. Outside is a nice little oasis despite being on a busy street. The flowers are a nice touch. The food and drinks were great as always. The wild mushroom ravioli was something new for me to try and quite good. The brussel sprout were very good and a better version than the average restaurant. The wine flight was a great deal and way to discover some new bottles. Despite being full, we couldn't pass up the key lime pie and glad we ordered it. It has a tartness that I love but rarely find north of Florida. The espresso helped to round out the night and set us on our way to the show. Service is always generally wonderful and they work nicely as a team. It's nice seeing Alpana herself there as well. The one opportunity would have been for our server to have provided more comprehensive overviews of the dishes. He was definitely charismatic and on top of service however.

I have been to Alpana a couple of times now and the experience has been consistently good! I recently visited this place with my girlfriends for Friday night dinner and drinks. We made a reservation ahead of time which made getting a table and check in process very smooth. We shared an appetizer - whipped Feta and Truffle honey which included olives, red peppers served with sourdough bread. We ordered a Pistachio Pesto and Wild Mushroom ravioli for our main course. Both of the items were very impressive. Give me pistachio and mushroom in my dish, and I'll be the happiest person! Alpana has an impressive range of cocktails and wine selections. I ordered a French Chardonnay and my friend tried Lavender bees. We absolutely loved our drinks! I liked Lavender bees slightly more as I enjoy sour drinks. We tried a Chocolate layer cake to end the night on a good note! The desert was a little underwhelming in my opinion, and seemed a little dry. My friend shared a fun fact about this place. The owner of this place - Alpana Singh is a famous sommelier and has won multiple accolades for her culinary experience. Make sure you ask for recommendations for wine pairings as you will be impressed with their wide selection and expertise. Alpana is situated in the heart of Gold coast and has a very sophisticated atmosphere. It remains one of my favorite places to dine in Chicago!

Easily my favorite Italian place in the city. The squid ink pasta and truffle mac n cheese is to die for and their patio seating is super cute and romantic.

Alpana is a neighborhood staple and perfect for those visiting the city as it is right off Michigan Ave. the service is always incredibly friendly, and the decor is cozy, yet vibrant! I've dined here several times, and I've never been disappointed by the food. The pastas are a must, especially the tagliatelle verdura. You also always have to order the whipped feta every time. It's delicious!!

Second trip to Alpana was enjoyable just like the first. Difference this time was I was with a larger table early on a Sunday evening, so a smaller crowd and less bustling atmosphere. Still attentive service and excellent good, along with a nice wine and cocktail selection. Hit dishes were the Venison Loin, Short Rib (polenta and red wine gravy were stars) and Strawberry Arugula Salad.
